Afterpay is an instalment payment option, a service that allows us to offer our customers the ability to make purchases now and pay for them in four payments every 2 weeks without any interest when all payments are made on time.
Just shop on Canterbury and check out as normal. At checkout, choose the Afterpay payment method. You will be directed to the Afterpay website to register and provide payment details (Visa/Mastercard). If you’ve used Afterpay before then you just need to log into your account. Then complete your order and it’s that easy.
Please note, that all items in your shopping bag must be eligible for Afterpay and that the basket total is over $30.
Afterpay is not available on purchases of gift cards or e-gift cards, pre-order items or subscriptions. If your order contains any of these items, you will need to purchase these items separately.
All Afterpay customers are required to make their first payment at the time of purchase. The remaining three payments are deducted automatically every 2 weeks from your selected payment method. If you would like to make additional unscheduled payments before they are due, you may log in to Afterpay to make your payments early. Afterpay will then adjust the amount owed accordingly.
You can log in to your Afterpay account anytime to view your payment schedule or make a payment before the next due date.
Afterpay orders are delivered within our standard delivery timeframes like any normal order from Canterbury New Zealand.
Yes, you can also use a promotional code with Afterpay to pay for your purchase.
To protect your privacy and security and comply with regulatory requirements, Afterpay will need to verify your identity when you sign up to Afterpay. Afterpay accepts any of the following identity documents.
- Driver's Licence
- Passport or
- International Passport
To arrange your return please log into your account, select your order and click the return button where you will be guided through the returns process.

Once you have requested your return you have up to 30 days from the day you received your order to return your items to us. Please return the items in their original packaging, package the items securely and ensure our returns form is included inside. You will need to obtain a proof of postage receipt when you return your items to us,
Any item you have accepted and then returned is your responsibility until it reaches our warehouse.
Please note, that items must be returned in the same condition as received, unworn with original tags attached.
Our returns procedure does not affect your statutory rights.
Canterbury products purchased at a retail store or from other websites must be returned to the original store or site from which they were purchased.
